50 Cent enters book publishing business

 

Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent has partnered with MTV/Pocket Books  the publisher of the rappreneur's memoirs, to create a series of novellas and graphic novels.

“From the time that we got to know each other, it was always something 50 Cent discussed and was passionate about,” said agent Marc Gerald, who previously edited Old School Books, a blaxploitation series published by W.W. Norton.

This is the latest move by the rappreneur to expand his ever growing list of business ventures.

G-Unit Books, a street-fiction series will be out in 2007 with several titles by established authors in the genre and featuring members of G-Unit as characters.

"These tales will tell the truth about The Life; the sex, guns and cash; the brutal highs and short lives of the players on the streets," according to a statement.

50 cent is currently promoting his movie, "Get Rich or Die Tryin" which has grossed $18 million at the box office to date.
