Aylwin Lewis new CEO and President of Sears Holdings

 

Sears Holdings Corp., the No. 3 U.S. retailer, has named Aylwin Lewis CEO and President as of September 30, 2005.

Lewis will replace Alan Lacy as chief executive as the company reported lower second-quarter sales, and its stock dropped 5 percent.

Prior to being named CEO of Sears Holdings Mr. Lewis was President and CEO of Kmart. Before  joining Kmart he was Chief of Multibranding and Operating Officer of YUM! Brands, Inc., a franchisor and licensor of quick service restaurants including KFC, Long John Silvers, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and A&W, from 2003 until October 2004, Chief Operating Officer of YUM! Brands from 2000 until 2003 and Chief Operating Officer of Pizza Hut from 1996. Mr. Lewis is also a director of Halliburton Company and The Walt Disney Company.

Mr.Lewis was named one of the most influential African Americans in business by Fortune Magazine.
