For many women of color, finding the perfect foundation can be a daunting and discouraging task. 

In a market saturated with cosmetics brands, still there's an overwhelming percentage of those that fail to offer base makeup that complements deeper skin tones -- forcing many brown beauties to use shadows, bronzers, and powders in its place that often turn their complexion an ashy, gray hue.

This beauty blunder is definitely one that Iman can identify with, and what ultimately led the 55-year-old model-mogul to create Iman Cosmetics, a beauty brand that allows women of color "to be beautiful in their own skin, on their own terms."
