Jay-Z's 40/40 Club Expands to Asia

 

Jay-Z's 40/40 Club has signed a deal to open three new 40/40 Club sports lounges in Asia. The new clubs which will be located in Shanghai, China, Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong will open by the end of 2007.

There are currently two 40/40 Club locations, the original in New York and the most recent in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, with a Los Angeles  location planned for 2006.       

The 15,000 sq foot Atlantic City location which opened October 25, 2005, reported cost about $3 million to build.

All of the clubs are decked out with sports memorabilia, such as framed autographed jerseys, and plasma televisions showing the latest game.

The clubs a jointly owned by Jay-Z and his partners Baseline Studios founder Juan Perez and Miami night life business veteran Desiree Gonzalez. The New York City location was opened on June 20, 2003.
